Cost Analysis and Strategic Sourcing Lead

FTXT has an immediate and exciting opportunity for a full-time Cost Analysis and Strategic Sourcing Lead. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director and perform a variety of key roles within a 30-person team in 2022 growing to 50-100 people in the next 5 years.
•Analyze costs across the value chain to support cost-effective global sourcing decisions.
•Perform Make Vs. Buy analysis for strategic fuel cell stack components.
•Perform Utilize capacity planning, utilization, and costing tools to optimize strategic operational objectives
•Review and evaluate capital budgeting and project proposals to ensure return on investment and sound investment decisions
•Evaluate operational constraints and partner with management to propose short- and long-term improvements
•Work closely with functional leads to deliver continuous process improvements
•Plan and execute periodic physical inventory counts at primary and third-party facilities
•Worked closely with supplier quality, planning and logistics and production to ensure efficient and accurate material forecasting, production and rapid prototyping of parts to meet both internal and external customer delivery requirements.
•Create new product supply strategy including industrial supply based development and supplier landscape evaluation. Built and maintained knowledge center on supplier competitive landscape for fuel cell technology roadmaps development.
•Identify critical component's supply risk and develop detailed project plan and proposal for mitigating the security of supply.
•Lead strategic sourcing, supplier’s performance & selection evaluation, and supply development to assess emerging technologies and high potential suppliers for next generation development.
•Work closely with supplier quality, planning and logistics and production to ensure efficient and accurate material forecasting, production and rapid prototyping of parts to meet internal customer delivery requirements.
•Deliver technical synthesis of new optical systems and materials that enables manufacturing production scalability with optimal Total Cost of Ownership
•Assess and assist in formulating CapEx investments and unit cost modeling for emerging technologies that provides Meta with most optimum ROI direction
•Identify new technology firms, lead Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR), and ensure alignment with cross functional stakeholders through thorough engineering and technical due diligence
•Validate supplier’s technical specification to ensure they align with FTXT design requirements
•Identify manufacturing optimizations in new technologies (materials, process, equipment, suppliers, testers) through Design Of Experiments, Proof of Concept, and simulated analysis for the purposes of high-volume mass production/scale
•Provide technical assessments of vendor capability gaps to assess risk and resource requirements for technology bring up
•Drive feasibility and verification on new technologies through early simulations, data collection, technical benchmarking, and prototype evaluations
•Lead the team in deep dives in manufacturing processes to understand initial process capability and analyze implications to performance KPI, yields, UPH, CapEx & unit cost impact
•Champion novel technology transfer to manufacturing partners from R&D/development/prototype lines to ensure scalability.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science. Master Degree is preferred.
•Have a systems mindset and comfortable working with ERP systems
•5+ years of experience working in supplier management, cost analysis or strategic sourcing.
•Strong Excel skills, including clear and concise cost-model building
•Effective at communicating complex topics with an unfamiliar audience
•Some accounting knowledge and ability to think critically about and propose solutions leveraging GAAP or other non-GAAP financial measures preferred
•8+ years of experience designing and/or manufacturing in fuel cell stack related components, thin films, coating, and/or metrology field
•Expert with fuel cell components’ technologies, engineering materials development, prototyping various novel components/systems
•Experience and knowledge of new technology requirement definition, characterization, and performance optimization
•Demonstrated experience to take technology strategy to scale
•Experience moving seamlessly from strategy to execution and deliver tangible results
•Experience influencing, negotiate, build consensus and make key strategic technology decisions
•Experience working across all layers of the organization, particularly with cross-functional teams, in a fast-paced environment
