FTXT has a global multicultural team with R&D centers in Shanghai, Baoding, Germany and Canada.  This position is in Vancouver BC at FTXT’s fuel cell stack center of excellence.  FTXT offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package with a culture of innovation.  FTXT has an immediate and exciting opportunity for a full-time Process Development Technologist.  The successful candidate will report to the Plate and Seal Process Development Lead and perform a variety of key roles within a 25-person team in 2022 growing to 50-100 people in the next 5 years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in process development and/or operations of new/innovative manufacturing processes from proof of concept through production with good quality, high yield and low cost.

•Manufacturing of fuel cell components (plate and seal).

•Adherence to regulatory requirements (ISO, CSA, WorkSafeBC)

•Completing documentation related to production

•Assist in setting up new fuel cell components production line and First Article Inspection.

•Quality Control functions such as Incoming Inspection, In-process Inspection, and end of line inspection

•Troubleshooting and repair of in-process and customer returns

•Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

•Able to read complex mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics. 

•Familiar with safe operation of shop-floor equipment 

•Knowledgeable in the operation of instrumentation, sensors and other electro-mechanical components and controls. 

•Familiar with use of hand tools as well as basic use of electronic diagnostic equipment.

•Strong oral and written communication skills 

•Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with consistently changing priorities

•Self-starter capable of working in a pro-active manner with minimal supervision

•Proficient in MS Office products for day-to-day computing

•Experience in fuel cell components manufacturing would be an asset
